“The Soul of Nature” Opens an Invisible Dialogue Between Humans and the Environment
On August 25 at 16:00, the solo exhibition “The Soul of Nature” by internationally recognized visual artist and photographer Tatjana-Aleksandra Aljautdinova will open at the Energy Discovery Centre. The exhibition invites art and technology enthusiasts to explore the invisible dialogue between humans and the environment. It examines nature as a living and ever-changing system, bringing together art and natural science.
Nature as a Dialogue Partner
“The Soul of Nature” is a series of artworks where photography intertwines with embroidery, threads, and elements found in nature. Each piece is created after a visit to a specific natural site: a forest, a beach, cliffs, a bog, or a field. The artist photographs the landscape and complements it with what she finds on site — moss, branches, stones, or bark.
The series consists of five works. Four are dedicated to living nature. The fifth — the final one — was created in a landfill and enriched with objects and threads found there. It speaks of how nature absorbs everything that enters its space — even human-made objects. Over time, these too become part of nature’s image and spirit.
This project is about attention. About how we can view nature not only as a backdrop but as a living, complex, and changing environment. And also about what we leave behind — and what may eventually become part of that environment.
The works of the exhibition originate in specific natural locations — forests, bogs, cliffs, fields, and even landfills. Tatjana Aljautdinova does not capture the landscape merely as a photograph but enriches it with elements collected on site: moss, branches, stones, bark, and human-made objects. The result is artworks where photography merges with handicraft, embroidery, and natural findings, creating a poetic and thought-provoking visual language.
One of the works is created using objects and threads found in a landfill. It emphasizes that nature absorbs everything that enters its space — even human-made things, which, over time, become part of nature’s image and spirit.
Art that Speaks to Science
“The Soul of Nature” combines creativity and curiosity. The works invite the viewer to reflect on how humans affect the natural environment and how nature, in turn, responds and adapts. This approach aligns with the mission of the Energy Discovery Centre — to reveal the connections between nature and science to a broader audience while also offering an aesthetic and emotional experience.
The exhibition will be open at the Energy Discovery Centre until March 1, 2026. The opening will take place on August 25 at 16:00 (doors open from 15:30). Tickets for the opening will be available from Fienta.
