The Energy Discovery Centre is the best place for children’s birthday parties full of sparkle. Partygoers can watch the lightning dance, make their hair stand on end and perhaps even go into outer space. The Discovery Centre has a special birthday party room with a kitchenette for up to 20 guests. The participating children have access to all the exhibitions with an optional guided tour of the centre. Besides viewing demonstrations of lightning and static electricity, the children will be able to attend one of the centre’s workshops or watch the science theatre show or the planetarium film.
What is included in the birthday package:
- Birthday party room for 3 hours, including preparation and cleaning.
- Day tickets to the centre for 15 guests (including parents). These day tickets remain valid after use of the birthday party room expires.
- One workshop, science theatre show or planetarium film – your choice. Please make the choice upon booking.
- You can bring your own food and beverages for the party table.
The birthday party room has several tables and plenty of chairs, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave oven, kettle and filter coffee machine. Also available to the partygoers are several trays, vase, a jug and special knife for the birthday cake or pie.
Birthday activities
NEW! Polaris, the Space Submarine, and the Mystery of the Polar Night
James, a traveling penguin from the South Pole, and Vladimir, a funny bear from the North Pole, meet on the Arctic sea ice. They become friends, talk about their respective regions and observe the stars together, wondering why the night is so long at the poles of the Earth. It is a 29-minute animation suitable from age 4 to 94.
Flying machines workshop
This is a fun, hands-on workshop for people of all ages. The aim is to make objects that fly as well as possible. You can put your creations to the test in the ‘wind tunnels’ on site. To take part in the workshop, children must be able to use scissors, glue and sticky tape or the adults accompanying them must be prepared to help. The workshop lasts for around 30 minutes.
Marble run workshop
Our marble run workshop attracts young and old alike! Using a range of materials and parts, the participants work in small groups to construct their own marble runs on a plywood base. This way, a proper contest can be held at the end of the workshop using all of the marble runs! To take part in the workshop, children must be able to use scissors, glue and sticky tape or the adults accompanying them must be prepared to help. The workshop lasts for around 30 minutes.
The Sun - Our Living Star
‘The Sun – Our Living Star’ is a unique film in the full-dome format that allows spectators to see the most important star in our lives up close and in a more exciting way than ever before. The Sun is the nearest star to the Earth and our greatest source of energy as it shapes our atmosphere, the weather and the very lives we lead. This film is suitable for partygoers of all ages. The film duration is 25 minutes.
Young Scientist's Experiments
‘Young Scientist’s Experiments’ is a scientific theatre show that you don’t want to miss! We will be mixing different liquids, testing our planet’s gravity or creating a vacuum: the choice of experiments depends on what excites you. This show is suitable for partygoers of all ages. The show duration is 30 minutes.
Constellations from Crystals
Do you know what the Big Dipper is? Perhaps you know you can see Aquila in the starry night? We learn together about stars and constellations and talk Estonian falk tales related to constellations. We will find some constellations specific to the Estonian starry sky and also make bright constellations ourselves. This activity is suitable for partygoers between 5 and 10 years old. The workshop lasts up to 25 minutes.
