On Tuesday, June 30, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Energy Discovery Centre’s Science Garden will host a summer community event where nature, science, and creativity come together. Visitors can look forward to an inspiring afternoon featuring engaging outdoor activities, hands-on workshops, and an educational masterclass in the Science Theatre.

The event focuses on three exciting themes: making seed paper, building an insect hotel, and caring for houseplants. Families, groups of friends, and everyone interested in a greener lifestyle are warmly invited to participate.

The afternoon begins with a warm welcome and outdoor activities in the Science Garden. Café Chlorophyll will serve tea made from peppermint and lemon balm grown in the garden, accompanied by delicious cookies. At the same time, visitors can join practical workshops to create seed paper and seed bombs. The finished seed bombs can later be used to add greenery to your neighbourhood in the spirit of guerrilla gardening.

Participants will also work together to build a large insect hotel, which will become a permanent feature of the Energy Discovery Centre’s Science Garden. The workshop will be led by Aleksander Valdman from Lasnaidee NGO. Younger participants will have the opportunity to make smaller insect hotels to take home. Drilling, hammering, and plenty of creative fun are guaranteed!

At 5:00 PM, guests will head inside to enjoy the Centre’s spectacular lightning demonstration, one of the Energy Discovery Centre’s most popular attractions. This will be followed at 5:10 PM by the masterclass “Houseplants and Their Care”, led by gardener Olga Solopova from Roheretk. The session will offer practical advice on caring for houseplants and bringing new life to your indoor greenery.
