Young Estonian inventors are invited to come together once again. The Inventors’ Rally announces the registration of teams for the 2026 competition. The race will take place in two age groups – for students in grades 4–6 and 7–9. The winner of each age group will be awarded a 500-euro prize trip to a destination of their choice.
According to the rules of the Inventors’ Rally, a team may consist of 3–5 members and a supervisor. Teams must develop and build a vehicle that completes a given distance as quickly as possible.
“The Inventors’ Rally is a practical, educational, and exciting experience,” said Kalev Smidt, producer of “Rakett69”. “In addition to engineering knowledge, it also develops very important social skills such as teamwork and leadership, and shows how much can be achieved through experimentation and smart thinking.”
“Girls and young people with different mother tongues are especially welcome to participate in the competition. Today, engineering is precisely the field that enables self-realisation for everyone, regardless of gender or home language,” emphasized Darja Saar, one of the co-organisers of the youth competition and CEO of the Energy Discovery Centre.
Registration for the competition is open until 23 March 2026 on the website rakett69.ee. The competition rules can also be found on the same website.
The final of the Inventors’ Rally will take place on 9 April at the Energy Discovery Centre in Tallinn.

The call for the Inventors’ Rally is presented to schools and young people by the Energy Discovery Centre, the science TV show “Rakett 69”, Enefit, the Estonian Research Council, and the Engineering Academy.
The activities are co-financed by the European Union through the projects “Development of the IT Academy and Engineering Academy in Vocational, General, and Hobby Education” and “Science Communication and Popularisation of Science (TeaMe3.0)”.
